In a recent article for ARTnews, the Hirshhorn was identified as a leader in employing the Internet to reach out to its growing audience.
The Hirshhorn wanted to highlight its role as a leading venue for contemporary art in the DC area – as a home for art and as a meeting place for artists. Mediatrope was selected to redesign the Hirshhorn's website and bring the Museum's new brand to the online space.
Mediatrope wove interactive social networking tools throughout the site to connect the public with the Museum and with contemporary art. "Staff pics” present the voices of museum staff – from guards to curators – to help make a human connection.
Thanks to Mediatrope's Sitebots® Content Management System, this lively and dynamic online platform is managed by a single full-time staff person. The new site is sleek, modern, and highly inviting.
